The Closing Ceremony for National Family History Month 2019 was hosted by the Society of Australian Genealogists in Sydney on Tuesday 3 September.
Heather Garnsey, Chief Executive, Society of Australian Genealogists, presented the keynote address: Ten Mistakes in Family History – and how not to make them!
This included many words of wisdom for beginner family historians but more importantly reminders to those who have been researching for decades and perhaps become a tad complacent with their research. It was entertaining and informative and enjoyed by all who were at the Closing Ceremony.
Heather then drew the numerous prizes provided by our sponsors and supporters for National Family History Month 2019.
All winners have been sent emails and details appear on our Sponsors’ page on our NFHM website. No emails bounced but please check the winners on the website in case your email disappeared into one of those infamous unexpected folders.
The picture above shows Heather Garnsey congratulating Michael Oldfield who won a 12 month world subscription to Ancestry, with Susie Zada watching on.
Thank you to all our sponsors for their prizes, to Heather Garnsey for her presentation, and to the Society of Australian Genealogists for hosting our Closing Ceremony.
