Friday 2nd August 2019 – double opportunity

Make a day of it and advance your Family History research in National Family History Month.

A great opportunity for everyone in Victoria – from the country or from the city – make your trip to the Victorian Archives at North Melbourne worthwhile.  There is free parking beside the Archives or a number of public transport options – see map and transport details.

Come to the Victorian Archives Centre at North Melbourne:

  • In the morning do your research at the Public Record Office Victoria or the National Archives of Australia or both
  • In the afternoon attend the official Launch of National Family History Month and hear the keynote address, Doing it for ourselves – transcription projects, given by curator and historian Dr Sophie Couchman.

The NFHM Launch is free but you must book.

And if you come to the NFHM Launch there will also be a really exciting announcement for anyone researching in Victoria!

Don’t miss it – hope to see you there.

NOTE: the Launch is still at 2.30 pm, however Refreshments have been moved to 2.00 pm before the Launch instead of after – this will help country people who have to catch trains etc. to get home.
